In 2025, the Medical College of Railway Transport of the Irkutsk State Transport University celebrates its 90th anniversary. The history of the creation and development of the educational institution is considered, from the opening of the paramedic-midwifery school in 1935 to one of the leading secondary vocational educational institutions of the Irkutsk region. Over 90 years, the college has graduated more than 9,000 medical specialists: medical brothers and sisters, paramedics, dental technicians and preventive hygienists. Many of them have achieved great success in their professional activities. For several years, the college has held leading positions in the rating of medical colleges subordinate to the Federal Agency for Railway Transport. The main goal of the College is to prepare competitive, qualified specialists with secondary medical education who will be able to work in hospitals and in practical healthcare. The training is conducted taking into account the requests of employers. Modern technologies and teaching methods are used so that students can easily study and gain the necessary knowledge. The college has created conditions not only for obtaining professional knowledge and skills, but also for developing students’ personal qualities, their civic position and correct understanding of professional ethics.
