The publication presents the experience of conceptual reading of Mikhail Bakhtin’s article «Art and Responsibility». It is focused on the person and responsibility in their interpenetration and interaction both in life and in art. The meaning of personality is revealed, which acquires internal and external parameters, forming their unity through logic, their own laws, reference points in life and through a system of new complex concepts, deepening their application. It is shown that such concepts as «the whole», «internal content of meaning», «external relations of elements» are extremely important for understanding of the meaning of art.

In August 2020, an online dialogue was held between Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Director of the M.M. Bakhtin Center of National Research Mordovia State University Natalia Ivanovna Voronina with Italian Slavic scholars Professor Stefano Gardzonio and Cinzia Cadamagnani, who answered the questions about the current state of Bakhtin studies in Italy.

The paper presents a decoded and commented fragment of M.M. Bakhtin's lectures as he read at the Mordovia State Pedagogical Institute (now N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University) in the second semester of the academic year 1936/37. It was recorded by M.A. Beban – a Moksha-Mordovian writer, one of the founders of the professional Mordovian literature, that days – a student of the Faculty of Literature. The fragment includes the consideration of the theme «The period of the Early Renaissance» (general characteristics of the period, the work of F. Petrarca and G. Boccaccio).
