Abstract
as the world becomes increasingly connected, the importance of global supply chains and the logistics processes that support them cannot be overemphasised. Digital solutions for trade technology, delivery, warehousing, tracking and clearance of goods internationally are finding their way into practice. They are a digital component of the development path of a trade ecosystem striving for efficiency, inclusiveness and fairness. Aim: the articles is to explore the impact of the adoption of new technologies on international trade and logistics. Objectives: 1) to analyse the digital technologies that are most transforming international trade and logistics; 2) to describe the effects that digitalisation has on trade relations and logistics processes. Methods: generalisation, systematisation, analysis, grouping, synthesis, abstraction, forecasting. Results: the study examines specific segments, applications and areas of international trade and logistics that are most susceptible to the adoption and benefits of new technologies. The projected cost savings from the application of digital technologies in logistics chains are also highlighted. Conclusion: the paper identifies the prospects and key areas of digitisation of trade and logistics processes that have a positive impact on improving the efficiency of global value chains.
