Abstract

This review summarizes the results of the two largest linguistic conferences on the languages of Southeast Asia 2019 - the 29th International conference “Southeast Asian Linguistic Society”, which was held on May 27-29 in Tokyo and the 8th International Conference of Austroasiatic Linguistics, which took place on August 29-31 in Chiang Mai. The main problems that are currently of interest to specialists in the languages of Southeast Asia were highlighted.
