William Carlos Williams' works and ideas are viewed as a part of the epoch and are juxtaposed to the attitudes of his contemporaries - both his allies and adversaries. His views of American past and future, his utopic vision of the New world civilization contributed a lot in the American modernist sensibility and cultural nationalism.
