In summer - autumn 2014 the author, using the method of in-depth interview, conducted a survey among 10 people. They are authors of radio programs and top managers of Russian and foreign spoken radio stations. Among them are: S. Buntman, 1st deputy chief editor of “Echo of Moscow”; A. Svetenko, author and columnist, “The lessons of history” to “Vesti FM»; A. Rodionov, deputy chief editor of “Kommersant FM»; E. Serov, from 2008 to 2014 - General Producer of Radio “Star”; A. Shary, deputy director of the Russian service of Radio “Liberty” and representatives of other stations anonymity (their opinion, we have taken into account in data processing), as well as employees of production studios that produce programs for radiostations and know which of them there is a special demand. The author first asks the question of how the process of media convergence, which determines the development of modern mass media, especially affects the flow of spoken content on radio. We came to the conclusion that it has an impact on the reduction of radio program length, mini-columns development and is connected with the tendency to a strong fragmentation of the ether.
