Abstract

Падения и связанные с ним травмы среди пожилых людей представляют большую медицинскую и социальную проблему вследствие значительного увеличения продолжительности жизни людей, наблюдаемого в течение XX-XXI вв. Некоторые авторы называют склонность к падениям синдромом падений, которому подвержены люди, проживающие в разных условиях: независимо в своем доме, в домах престарелых или специальных лечебных учреждениях. Падения могут приводить к состояниям, исходом которых является потеря независимости, способности к самообслуживанию, инвалидность и даже смерть. Меры по профилактике падений будут эффективными при условии правильного формирования целевых групп для предупреждения падений и преемственности врачей первичного звена здравоохранения, гериатров и других узких специалистов. Повышению эффективности профилактических программ будет способствовать комплексирование с другими мероприятиями, такими как программа профилактики ишемической болезни, где применение физических упражнений одновременно служит и профилактике падений. В рамках комплексных программ проще осуществлять контроль за назначением лекарственных средств, повышающим склонность к падениям.
