Abstract

Одним из частых сопутствующих проявлений заболеваний у людей пожилого и старческого возраста является боль, которая зачастую недооценивается, до конца не диагностируется и не лечится. Исследования показывают, что, например, 67% всех смертных случаев от онкологической патологии – второй причины смерти пожилых людей, приходится на возраст 65 лет и старше. При этом больше четверти (26%) пациентов, страдавших от ежедневной боли, не получали обезболивающей терапии.Эффективность лечения боли зависит от правильности определения ее источника, характера и интенсивности. Именно эти составляющие у пациентов пожилого и старческого возраста крайне затруднены.Адекватная оценка характера болевого синдрома – первый шаг к эффективному лечению боли.Понимание необходимости заботливого отношения к пациенту, эффективное комплексное лечение, которое максимально облегчит боль и позволит продолжить нормальную жизнь, должно стать основным критерием работы с людьми пожилого и старческого возраста. Только сотрудничеством с пациентами, забота со стороны медицинских работников и организаций здравоохранения сделают возможным облегчение страданиям миллионов пожилых людей во всем мире.
