Abstract—The study of the influence of different types of the surface treatment of medical stainless steel (12H18N10T) on the antibacterial effect has been carried out in this work. It is found that the steel samples that are treated by sandblasting with Al₂O₃ electrocorundum, electropolishing, and passivation have an antibacterial effect, as well as the thermally oxidized steel samples. The samples with passivation have antiglare properties.
