Abstract

The article presents new data on the northward expansion of the nesting range of great egret Casmerodius albus. Nests of great egret with adults and nestlings were found within a grey heron Ardea cinerea colony situated on Radovskii Island on the Rybinsk Reservoir in Yaroslavl oblast of Russia in late July 2015. This finding suggests that the nesting range of great egret is expanding toward the north of the European part of Russia.
