In this work, continuing the cycle of publications devoted to the legal legacy of the Eastern Roman Empire, the author analyzed such a historical and legal monument as the Theodosius Code in its secular criminal law segment, as well as its component part, the Novellas of Valentinian III, determined their place in the system of Roman law (Eastern Roman Empire) and the significance of for modern Russian criminal law.
