Results of the research including 400 patients who underwent transurethral resection of the bladder or prostate are presented. The purpose of the work was to study an influence of the “baricity” of ropivacaine solution on the spinal anesthesia clinical picture. The results showed that spinal anesthesia with 0,5% isobaric ropivacaine and 0,5% hyperbaric ropivacaine provides good conditions for these operations. Thus, use of the hyperbaric ropivacaine is more preferable because it helps to avoid unnecessary long motor block and hypotension
