Author Guidelines

  1. We accept scientific articles, review articles, editorials, discussion articles, profiles, editorial notes, book reviews, article reviews, play reviews, etc. for publication. The recommended length for articles and reviews is 30,000–40,000 characters (up to 1 author's sheet), with up to 45,000 characters allowed in exceptional cases. The length of a message is approximately 20,000 characters (0.5 author's sheet), while editorial notes and reviews are 10,000–15,000 characters. Submissions should be made electronically in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman font, 14 point, 1.5 spacing.
  2. Submissions are accepted to the address indicated on the journal's website (http://ivanovo.ac.ru/about_the_university/science/magazines/intelligentsia/), as well as to the following addresses: int_i_mir@mail.ru, vlchernoperov@rambler.ru, orvozi@rambler.ru.

Submissions are formatted in accordance with GOST R 7.07-2021.

    3. The document set must consist of two files:

3.1. In the first file, the material must be formatted in the following order:

3.1.1. The publication type must be indicated on a separate line on the left—research article, review article, editorial article, discussion article, personal profile, editorial note, book review, article review, performance review, etc.

3.1.2. On the next line for an article, review, announcement, or other article, the UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) is indicated in the upper left corner.

3.1.3. On the next line to the right, indicate the scientific specialty of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) to which the material pertains. Up to three specialties may be indicated.

3.1.4. On the next line, centered in CAPITAL LETTERS, in bold, is the title of the work.

3.1.5. On the next line, indicate the full first name, patronymic, and last name of the author(s) in bold.

3.1.6. Followed by a space, is the publication.

The article should have the following structure:

introduction with mandatory headings and those specified in the text: relevance, statement of the question (brief historiographic and source reviews are also welcome);

research methodology and methods;

main body (division into meaningful sections is encouraged);

conclusion, which summarizes the research. Review articles, announcements, or critiques do not have a strict internal structure.

There are two types of references in articles, reviews, announcements, or critiques.

The first type is footnotes: references/footnotes only to archives, informational, or short newspaper and website materials that do not contain in-depth analytical analysis. They are automatically formatted with continuous page numbers; author names are italicized, 11-point font, single-spaced.

The second type is in-text references: to publications from the "List of Sources." The author's last name (without initials) is given in square brackets, followed by the year of publication, separated by a comma, and, after a colon (:), the page number. If a source has two authors, the last names are separated by a comma.

Various formatting options for bibliographic footnotes/references can be found on the journal's website in the "Publication Rules" section, then "Formation Samples." Bibliographic descriptions of cited documents/literary sources are formatted in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003, 7.0.5-2008.

The reference to an electronic resource must include the date of access.

Additional recommendations:

— Only automatic hyphenation is allowed in the text;

— When citing, use quotation marks " "; for internal citations, use " ";

— Distinguish between punctuation and graphic symbols "—" (dash: Ctrl + Alt + minus on the right numeric keypad) and "-" (hyphen);

— Use "—" (dash) to indicate spaces between dates, page numbers, etc. For example, 1920—1930; pp. 258—259.

3.2. In the second file, the material should be formatted in the following sequence:

3.2.1. The type of publication is indicated on a separate line on the left—research article, review article, editorial, discussion article, profile, editorial note, book review, article review, play review, etc.

List of Sources

The "List of Sources" includes only referenced literature and is organized alphabetically. Works in Russian are listed first, followed by those in foreign languages. For translated publications, the authors of the translations must be indicated. The imprint for books must include the publisher and the total number of pages, and for articles, the page range. Elements such as [text] or authors' names separated by a slash, dashes between descriptive elements, or ISBN should not be included. The "List of Sources" does not include archives, informational materials, or short newspaper and website materials that do not contain in-depth analytical analysis. All such sources are referenced in the text of the article.

References

The "References" list (Latinized list) is formatted according to the Harvard referencing guide and contains all publications from the "Source List" in Latinized form, arranged in the Latin alphabet. Transliteration of publications in "References" is performed using the system adopted by the Library of Congress (LG). For translation rules from Cyrillic to Latin, see: https://translit.ru/ru/lc/ or www.convertcyrillic.com/Convert.aspx.

For Russian-language sources (and other sources published in alphabets other than Latin), the following order of elements should be used in the "References" section, separated by commas (,):

For books, dissertations, and dissertation abstracts:

— the author(s)'s last name and initials (year of publication in brackets) in English translation;

— the title of the book, dissertation, or dissertation abstract in italics, transliterated;

— the English translation of the work in [square brackets];

— the publisher in transliteration;

— the place of publication in English translation;

— the country in English translation;

For articles in journals, collections of articles, conference proceedings, or book chapters:

— the author(s)'s last name and initials (year of publication in brackets) translated into English,

— the English translation of the title of the journal article, conference proceedings, or book chapter in quotation marks (' ') in [square brackets],

— the transliterated title of the journal, collection of articles, conference proceedings, or book in italics,

— the English translation of the title of the journal, collection of articles, conference proceedings, or book in [square brackets],

— the transliterated publisher for collections of articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters,

— the place of publication translated into English for collections of articles, conference proceedings, or books,

— the country translated into English for collections of articles, conference proceedings, or books,

— the page range of the article in the journal, collection Articles, conference proceedings, or books.

The titles of works published in Latin are duplicated in the "List of Sources" and in "References."

For Latinized sources in "References," separated by commas (,), the following order of elements is used:

for books, dissertations, and dissertation abstracts:

—last name and initials of the author(s) (year of publication in parentheses),

—title of the book, dissertation, or dissertation abstract in italics

—publisher, except for dissertations and dissertation abstracts

—place of publication

—country (for the United States, state if necessary)

For articles in journals, collections of articles, conference proceedings, or book chapters:

— last name, initials, and initials of the author(s) (year of publication in parentheses),

— title of the journal article, conference proceedings, or book chapter in quotation marks (' '),

— title of the journal, collection of articles, conference proceedings, or book in italics,

— place of publication for collections of articles, conference proceedings, or books,

— country (for the United States, specify the state if necessary),

— page range of the journal article, collection of articles, conference proceedings, or book chapter.

If the cited article has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), it must be included at the end of the description.

In "References," the order of sources is dictated by the Latin alphabet.

Examples of reference formatting, “List of Sources” and “References” are provided on the journal’s website.
