Submission guidelines for Izvestiya: Mathematics

I. General information

1.1. The journal Izvestiya: Mathematics publishes original papers of high scientific quality intended to a broad circle of mathematicians. Before sending to the Editorial Board the documents and information, listed in Sec. 1.2, please read carefully the text of License Agreement. Upon acceptance of an article, authors shall be asked to complete and sign the License Agreement and send it to the Editorial Board. The accepted paper cannot be published without a signed License Agreement on the transfer of an exclusive license to the publisher to use the original and translated versions of the paper.

1.2. The authors submit to the Editorial Board:

  • Manuscript. The size of the manuscript should be at least 8 pages and at most 60 pages (per Sec. 2.1). Submission and publication of lengthier or shorter articles requires a special decision of Editorial Board of Izvestiya: Mathematics.
  • Author data. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. Present the authors' affiliation addresses. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name, and the e-mail address of each author. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication.

1.3. Articles shall be submitted via https://www.mathnet.ru/eng/im or sent by electronically to: izv@mi-ras.ru.

II. Manuscripts preparation

2.1. Manuscripts should be prepared in LaTeX, article style with amsmath, amsfonts, amssymb packages, 12 pt font, wide (4 cm) left and top side margins. Both tex- and pdf-files shall be submitted.

2.2. The first page of a manuscript should contain AMS classification subject index, authors names and initials, the title of a manuscript, a short abstract (not exceeding 20 lines), and (at most 5) key words. Please, do not use complicated formulas and do not refer to the reference list in your abstract. All pages of the manuscript (including figures, tables and reference list) should be numerated.

2.3. The number of figures should not exceed 20. If a figure is placed on a separate page, please, indicate the corresponding place at the margin of this page of your manuscript. The figure should be clear and detailed, containing a minimal number of letter characters. An accompanying text may be included only into the sub-figure comment. The figures can be also prepared electronically, using one of standard graphic systems like EPS, PS, PCX, BMP, TIFF, GIF, JPG and so on. In this case it is recommended to use formats of raster graphics with resolution 600 dpi points.

2.4. The list of references should be arranged in order of citation or alphabetically according to the rules of the journal (cf. a sample below). No unpublished results can be used in the proofs. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text.

III. Some additional notes

3.1. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final.

3.2. Any paper rejected twice will be not considered anymore.

3.3. The editorial board shall reject, without refereeing, any article involving statements contradicting generally accepted results.

3.4. Articles dedicated to solving problems from the list posted on the journal website (see the appendix) can be accepted for consideration only with a recommendation of a specialist (not a member of the editorial board) which has publications in the relevant field of mathematics in leading mathematical journals.
