Abstract
A design concept is proposed for the problem of providing inhabited points and settlements located in water-scarce regions with high-quality water service by the use of various technologies for filtering water intake, including developments by the authors. A classification is made of the basic process layouts and types of filtering water-intake and water-treatment facilities and devices of various production capacity. A methodology has been developed for hydraulic calculation of a number of processes used in filtering water-intake and water-treatment facilities.
