详细

For the first time, stimulated Raman scattering is detected in microcrystalline powder of barium nitrate under excitation by ultrashort (60 ps) pulses of a YAG:Nd3+ laser operated at a wavelength of 532 nm. First and second Stokes components with a frequency shift of 1047 cm1 are observed in the stimulated Raman scattering spectrum of the powder. Spectra observed in the microcrystalline powder were juxtaposed with the corresponding spectra of spontaneous and stimulated Raman scattering in a Ba(NO3)2 single crystal. The studies performed open the possibility for creating lasers based on stimulated Raman scattering in microcrystalline powders of inorganic compounds with various molecular groups.
