Abstract
Twin-screw extruder was used to produce fibers based on polyactide and its stereocomplexes. The fibers were subjected to an additional 4- and 6-fold orientation stretching. The supramolecular structure of the oriented and unoriented fibers was studied. It was found that the degree of orientation stretching of the polyactide fibers affects their stress-strain and elastic characteristics and also their biodegradation kinetics.
