Resumo

In this work, the electrophysical properties of temperature in a self-regulating heating cable (SHC) were studied. In the course of the laboratory experiment, the temperature dependence of the resistance of the SHC’s heating matrix was obtained. Based on the obtained values of resistance, the values of the specific resistance and the possible released power were calculated. The dependence of these quantities on the temperature was compared to the data in the SHC’s certificate. Based on the experimentally determined parameters, a mathematical model of SHC was constructed in the ANSYS Fluent engineering computing software. The steady-state problem was solved in a 2D setting by the finite element method. The processes of heat and mass transfer in the heating cables of various configurations and a heated pipe with water were studied. Two types of heating cables were analyzed. The efficiency of water heating in the pipe depending on the amount of heating cables, released power, and the size of the heated matrix was compared. Dependences of water and matrix temperatures on the released power for various types of cables, their amount, and the size of the heating matrix were constructed.
