Abstract
The simple realization of a three-bit programmable atomic gate on a five-level atom is demonstrated. The proposed scheme is based on an adiabatic transfer of the populations of atomic levels in the M-system. A detailed analysis of the numerical solution of nonstationary equations for the density matrix of the five-level system is carried out.
