Abstract
The effect of gold nanoparticles on the emission of many-particle states in SiGe/Si quantum wells with thin capping layers is studied. It is found that near the plasmon resonance of the nanoparticles the enhancement factor for the visible-range luminescence of many-particle states in SiGe/Si quantum wells depends on the thickness of the Si capping layer and the type of the many-particle state.
