Abstract

Dewetting and dehomogenization of a thin gold-palladium film on a glass substrate upon exposure to nanosecond laser radiation are observed. The effect of laser radiation on the film is studied from the viewpoint of the fabrication of structures with surface plasmon resonance. Optical spectra of the structured surfaces clearly show the applicability of this method.
