Abstract

In the high-energy region, the spectra of cosmic ray particles are measured using calorimeters and particle charge detectors. Particles flying in the directions opposite to those of the cascade development (backscattered flux) can distort the results of such experiments [1, 2]. In this paper, by the example of the particle charge detector and the PAMELA spectrometer calorimeter, the contribution of the backscattered particle flux when determining the primary particle charge as well as determining its energy in the calorimeter is estimated.
