The Influence of Grain Boundaries on the Resilience of Aluminum Nanoclusters

Abstract

The resilience of nanoclusters surrounded by a perfect crystal matrix has been studied via the molecular dynamics approaches. Clusters with sizes of up to 10 nm are found to be unstable and dissolve in the matrix.
