Abstract
Optical transmission is used to study the electronic structure of nanosized Cu phases that are obtained on the surface of single-crystalline NaCl (100) using vacuum deposition. It is demonstrated that Cu nanofilms with a thickness of 1–1.5 monolayers exhibit properties typical of narrow-band-gap semiconductors.
