Abstract
It is noted for the example of known and previously implemented reactor designs with fast reactors that there is no generally accepted conceptual answer to the question of the possibility and necessity of using electromagnetic pumps in the intermediate loop the emergency heat removal system (EHRS). The requirements of electromagnetic pumps used in the intermediate loop of EHRS are formulated on the basis of an analysis of the main operational regimes of EHRS. The possibility of developing electromagnetic pumps satisfying the formulated requirements is evaluated. The advantages of using electromagnetic pumps in the intermediate loop of EHRS are indicated for a variant of a 2800 MW reactor facility.
