Abstract

Backward collinear acousto-optic interaction (i.e., the Bragg reflection of an electromagnetic wave from an ultrasound wave in KRS-5 crystal) is considered. The main parameters of interaction are shown to depend on the wavelength of electromagnetic radiation. Particular attention is given to acoustic-optic nonreciprocal effects. The optimum spectral ranges for the application of backward collinear interaction are determined.
