Abstract
Powerful electrical discharges, linear and ball lightning, nuclear and thermonuclear explosions, chromospheric flares and sunspots, and supernova explosions are all associated with the release of enormous amounts of energy, electromagnetic energy in particular. A common approach to considering these phenomena associated with enormous concentrations of electromagnetic energy in a vacuum is proposed.
