Abstract

The brittle stars inhabiting the Cooperation Sea, Eastern Antarctica, are described. Since the publication by Fritz Jensenius Madsen (1967), who completed analysis of the data collected by the British, Australian, and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition after Theodor Mortensen, the list of brittle stars has somewhat changed and currently comprises 44 species. It was found that the brittle stars of the Cooperation Sea in their species composition are the closest to the brittle stars of the Weddell and Cosmonauts seas.
