Abstract
On February 1, 1997, Doctor of Medical Sciences Professor Sergei Mikhailovich Zhuravlev celebrated his 60th birthday. His many years of scientific and practical work to improve the organization of traumatological and orthopedic care for the population of the country deservedly received wide recognition from the scientific community and practical healthcare workers. At the heart of this activity at all its stages lay a deep diversified study of injuries and orthopedic morbidity, the search for the most effective ways to prevent them and reduce adverse social consequences - temporary and permanent disability, mortality.
