Abstract

Clinical and roentgenologic manifestations of posttraumatic protrusion coxarthrosis are described on the basis of examination including CT and MRT of 37 patients aged from 23 to 73 years. The causes for the development of degenerative dystrophic changes in the hip joint following posttraumatic acetabular protrusion are given in detail. Surgical treatment of patients with posttraumatic protrusion coxarthrosis should be directed at the elimination of the incorrect position within biomechanical system spine-pelvis and pelvis-femur. This can be achieved by means of total hip replacement.
