Robust Scene-Based Digital Video Watermarking Scheme Using Level-3 DWT: Approach, Evaluation, and Experimentation

This paper presents a robust digital video-watermarking system for copyright and copy protection. The proposed method applies the combination of discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and scene-change-detector. For better understanding, this approach can be presented in the form of four stages. The first stage is finding the frame where the watermark is to be inserted. The analysis of watermarking using the level-3 decomposition of LL subband withDWTis described in the second stage. Transparency and the robustness have been analyzed under fifteen different attacks in the third stage. Improvement in the robustness and transparency, as compare to watermarking using different levels of LL subband is calculated in terms of the normalized correlation and the structural similarity index in the fourth stage. The experimental result reveal that the proposed method yields the extracted watermark image and watermarked video of good quality and can sustain different image processing, JPEG compression and geometrical attacks. Empirical results prove the improvement in the performance as the decomposition level increases from level-1 to level-3. Comparative analysis with the existing schemes proves the improved robustness, better imperceptibility and the reduced computational time of the proposed scheme.

Adaptive Selection of Parameters of S-Random Interleaver in Wireless Data Transmission Systems with Turbo Coding

The paper proposes an adaptive method for selecting the parameters of S-random interleaver of turbo-code codex in wireless data transmission systems under conditions of a priori uncertainty for enhancing the reliability of data transmission and reducing the computational complexity of the coding/decoding process of turbo codes. This method is based on the adaptive selection of parameters of S-random interleaver depending on values of the normalized quantity of sign reversals of a posteriori-a priori log-likelihood function ratios (LLFR) regarding the transmitted data bits of turbo-code decoder. The results of simulation modeling show that the rational parameters of S separation of data bit interleaving for S-random interleaver are obtained depending on the values of signal-to-noise ratio in channel and the normalized number of sign reversals of a posteriori-a priori LLFR of interactive turbo-code decoder. As a result, the energy gain of coding can be obtained, the complexity of its hardware and software implementation can be reduced, and reliability of data transmission can be enhanced as compared to the known results, for example, the fourth generation mobile communication system 4G LTE-Advanced.

Interaction Features of Stepped-Impedance Stripline Resonators in Comb Filters

Mixed coefficients of coupling between the closely spaced stepped-impedance resonators in comb filters of stripline design have been investigated. Transmission zeros at frequencies fzi correspond to mixed coupling coefficients ki. These zeros can be moved with respect to the filter passband central frequency f0 by modifying the shape of resonators. It was proved that the reduction of gap between resonators made it possible to locate frequencies fz and f0 closer to one another. The existing restrictions on the minimal value of gap between resonators limit the degree of proximity between fz and f0. The N-resonator stripline comb filters with mixed coupling can have N−1 transmission zeros. The absence of cross-coupling links in stripline filters simplifies their construction. It has been established that the thickness of central conductors of stripline resonators affects the positive and negative mixed coupling coefficients. The paper presents measurement data of miniature stripline three-resonator comb filter having an enhanced selectivity at the expense of two transmission zeros. The central frequency of filter is f0 = 1850 MHz, the bandwidth BW = 100 MHz. The filter having dimensions 5.8×4.2×2 mm was implemented by connecting two ceramic substrates having relative dielectric permittivity εr = 92 and the metallized patterns deposited on them.

Methods of Forming Classified Training Sample for Adaptation of Weight Coefficient of Automatic Interference Compensator

The problem of analyzing various methods for the formation of the classified training sample that ensure the effective operation of the automatic compensator for active interferences with simultaneous presence of passive interference is solved in this paper. For the first time an adaptive method for the formation of the classified training sample based on the use of threshold estimation of the interchannel correlation coefficient of the combined interference is proposed. An adaptive method for the formation of the classified training sample based on the current interval estimation of the distribution of the passive component of the combined interference in range (time) is also proposed. The method provides an estimation of the coefficient of interchannel correlation with the selection of the maximum value and its utilization for the formation of weight coefficients in the following probing period. Experiment in the testing ground is conducted with a quantitative estimation of the cancellation ratio of active interference for the formation of the classification sample using spectral differences in the structure of active and passive interferences.

Electrodynamical Model of Composite Cylindrical Structure with Laminated Dielectric

The article is devoted to the problem of the natural electromagnetic modes, the regions of their existence and the relationship with all possible types of resonances in the waveguide junction of a cylindrical and radial waveguides with a layered (laminated) filling of the radial waveguide with dielectric material. An electrodynamic model is created on the basis of a rigorous method of modal matching technique, with the separation of the common waveguide coupling region and the representation of the field in it in the form of a superposition of the fields of the partial waveguide eigenmodes. The structure under investigation can be used to measure the electrical parameters of dielectric samples of a cylindrical cross-section. It is shown that the measurements will have a local character, since the spectral characteristics of the junctions are determined mainly by the size of the central coupling region of the waveguides and by the electrical parameters of the dielectric that is in the junction. The problem of edge effects for samples of finite length (partial filling of a radial waveguide with dielectric) is investigated. Taking into account the edge effect enables reducing the error in measuring the permittivity for samples of arbitrary sizes in the investigated structure.
