Abstract

We consider measurements of pitch and roll angles using compensation pendulum accelerometers with closed feedback. A three-component mathematical model of a single-axis accelerometer has been developed as a means of measuring pitch and roll angles. The model takes into account the effect of acceleration applied perpendicular to the axis of sensitivity of the accelerometer. The error of the mathematical model is investigated. Methods for accelerometer calibration and a method for taking into account the effect of temperature on its readings using a three-component mathematical model are proposed. The mathematical model is verified using accelerometer calibration results.
