Abstract

In prisms with different cut angles, we study centering errors of long axisymmetric hollow parts during the control of the radial runout of the middle part with respect to the common axis of the extreme centering thickenings having a significant ovality. A mathematical model is developed that relates the movement of the center of the elliptic cross-section of the base surface during rotation in the prism with the geometric center of the prism. In a typical example of an oval piece, a trajectory of the relative displacement of the center of the ellipse section is determined during rotation in a prism with different cut angles (60, 90, 108, and 120°).
