Abstract

The potential accuracy of estimating the spatial displacement of an object using a high-speed videocamera and an optical test pattern installed on the object was analyzed with known and unknown non-information parameters of the recorded video signal. Expressions have been derived for calculation of the lower bound of dispersion of the effective estimate of the spatial displacement. The dependence of the lower bound of this estimate on the signal parameters has been examined. Results are given for an experiment to record images of the test pattern oscillating together with the object, and to re-establish the rule for the change in time of its spatial displacement.
