Hybrid photodiode 1×20 format array with variable gain for recording vacuum ultraviolet and soft X-ray plasma radiation

Abstract

Characteristics of the 1×20 format silicon SPD detectors hybrid array for UV and soft X-ray radiation diagnostics of high-temperature plasma are presented. It is possible to switch the gain from 105 to 107 V/A to expand recorded signals dynamic range; the response time was 3 and 70 µs, respectively. Visualization of 8 keV X-ray radiation energy was demonstrated. Array design and circuitry allow the use of technology that eliminates the influence of secondary electron emission currents on the accuracy of measurements.
