The first issue of the magazine took place in 1982. The editorial office of the journal is located in Moscow on the basis of the N. N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Published monthly. Included in the list of scientific journals VAK. Since 2007, a translated version of the journal in English has been published under the name Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry B
