1. The manuscript of the article received by the editors of the journal “Defectoscopy” is initially considered by the editorial board to determine its compliance with the profile of the journal and appoint a reviewer.

2.Leading Russian and foreign experts in the scientific profile of the articles under review are appointed as reviewers of the manuscripts.

3. A necessary condition for the publication of the article is the presence of a reasoned positive review from the appointed reviewer. The review is considered at a meeting of the editorial board and approved by its decision.

4. The editorial board may send the manuscript for additional or new review to another specialist. The editorial board also makes a decision on sending the manuscript for scientific editing or on the absence of such a need. The corrected version of the article is returned to the reviewer to make a decision and prepare a reasoned opinion on the possibility of publication. The decision to publish the corrected version of the article or to send it for additional review is made by the editorial board.
