Abstract
A critical analysis is made of a method that uses piles to perform soil tests (Osterberg method) for the action of impressing loads. An ONLY-DOWN method of testing full-scale multisectional piles is proposed. This method makes testing more reliable and carrying-capacity determination more accurate, which the investigations performed attest.
