Abstract
The wear and the surface quality of various structural materials are studied after machining at ultrahigh cutting speeds. The periodicity of cutting is shown to decrease the wear of tool, to reach the stability of tool that is economically efficient, and to achieve the surface quality that is higher than that after conventional cutting.
