Abstract
In recent years, the profession of a death doula has become increasingly popular in Russia. This is a specialist who helps terminally ill patients and their families cope with loss and prepare for dying. Unlike a nurse, a death doula does not provide treatment, but focuses on creating comfortable conditions for dying, providing emotional support, developing the right attitude towards death, and planning the remaining months of life.
A doula helps patients and their loved ones understand the process of dying, cope with emotional difficulties, and realize their last wishes.
The profession of a death doula focuses on quality of life and emotional comfort.
