Symmetrical triindole as a central unit in the fluorene-containing polyphenol assembly
Abstract
A new strategy was proposed for the synthesis of fluorene-containing indole polyphenols, based on the Suzuki–Miyaura reaction of hexabrominated symmetric indole trimer with the monoboryl N,N'-di[9,9'-bis(3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl)fluoren-2'-yl]aniline derivative and subsequent chemical transformations. The prepared compound was applicable for the development of a promising positive resist for electron-beam nanolithography capable of forming patterns with a 12 nm resolution.

Synthesis, crystal and molecular structure of 3,7-ditosyl-1,5-diphenyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane
Abstract
3,7-Ditosyl-1,5-diphenyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane has been found to adopt a chair–chair conformation in the crystalline state in contrast to 3,7-ditosyl-1,5-diphenyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-9-one, which had been previously found to exist in a chair-boat conformation.

New polyfunctional spiropyran of 1,3-benzoxazin-4-one series with carbonyl-containing substituents in the [2H]-chromene moiety
Abstract
A polyfunctional spiropyran of 1,3-benzoxazin-4-one series containing one hydroxy and two carbonyl substituents in the [2H]-chromene moiety was synthesized on the basis of a new analogue of 2,4-dihydroxyisophthalic aldehyde, methyl 3,5-diformyl-2,4-dihydroxybenzoate. The structure of resulting 6'-carbomethoxy-3,7-dimethyl-8'-formyl-5'-hydroxy-4-oxo-spiro-(1,3-benzoxazine-2,2'-[2H]-chromene) was unambiguously established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. These data allowed us to reveal the route for the reaction of the new polyfunctional aldehyde with 1,3-benzoxazin-4-onium perchlorate.

Macrokinetics of carbonaceous feedstock pyrolysis in a tubular reactor of variable cross section
Abstract
A macrokinetic model of carbonaceous feedstock pyrolysis in a tubular reactor of variable cross section was constructed. It was shown that, to intensify the pyrolysis in such a tubular reactor, its diameter should vary depending on the viscosity of the reaction products.

Interaction of [В10H10]2– and [В12H12]2– with nitro compounds
Abstract
The interaction of the [B10H10]2– and [B12H12]2– anions with aliphatic and aromatic nitro compounds (RNO2, where R = Et, n-Pr, i-Pr, tert-Bu, Ph) has been studied under irradiation with visible and UV light. It has been shown that, depending on the reaction conditions, both mono- and disubstituted nitro-closo-decaborates can be selectively obtained in yields up to 50%.

Passivation of iron nanopowders at temperatures below 0°C in a dry air atmosphere
Abstract
It was experimentally shown that, at a temperature below–25°C, an iron nanopowder produced by a chemical metallurgical method does not ignite spontaneously in dry air. At this temperature, the nanopowder is passivated by atmospheric oxygen so that it neither is oxidized, nor self-ignites in air at room temperature. Thus, the proposed nanopowder production method ensures an acceptable safety level of handling nanopowders while preserving their unique properties.

Distribution of niobium and lanthanum between two immiscible melts in the system LaPO4–SiO2–NaF–Nb2O5–Fe2O3
Abstract
The system LaPO4–SiO2–NaF–Nb2O5–Fe2O3 is characterized by immiscibility fields in the liquid state region. Addition of iron expands fields of immiscibility of melts and decreases the temperature of their coexistence. A fraction of 87–90% of niobium is extracted into iron silicate melt, and 92–98% of lanthanum is extracted into phosphate salt melt.
