Nonexistence of solutions of the dirichlet problem for some quasilinear elliptic equations in a half-space

We prove the monotonicity of nonnegative bounded solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the quasilinear elliptic equation −Δ_pu = f(u), p ≥ 3, in a half-space. This assertion implies new results on the nonexistence of solutions for the case in which f(u) = u^q with appropriate values of q.
