Abstract
Computer simulation of gas flow in an anti-surge valve for two designs of the valve, one with single-stage separator and the other with two-stage separator with transitional cavity, is performed. Unevenness of the mass flow of gas through the series of separator passages is discovered. It is established that this unevenness is lower in a valve with two-stage separator, leading to the conclusion that such valves are efficient for gaspumping compressor systems.
