The sources of information are Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Arts and Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), and Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for 1993–2017. The following information was considered: the annual number of publications originating in Russia, the overall number of publications; the share of Russian publications in each field of science in the world array of publications; the rank of Russia based on the number of publications in each area of research; the share of Russia’s publications in a particular area of research in the total number of Russian publications; and the average and average weighted impact factor for a given set of journals.
