Abstract

214 patients with BPH who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate were observed. Patients in Group 1 (n = 121) was administered Tranexam that containins fibrinolysis inactivator tranexamic acid. Tranexam administered orally once before surgery at a dose of 1 g per day and at the day of operation intravenously 15 mg/kg body weight every 8 hours. The control group 2 (n = 93) did not take Tranexam. There were found that patients in Group 1 compared to the 2nd group had significantly less time of postoperative hematuria (4.6 ± 0.3 h and 18.6 ± 1.3 h, respectively). The value of intraoperative blood loss in patients in the two groups did not differ
