Аннотация
На протяжении большей части 20-го века было распространено мнение, что заболевание пародонта является одной из основной глобальной проблемой общественного здравоохранения, которая затрагивает большинство людей в возрасте старше 35 лет и что все люди в равной степени подвержены риску заболевания Изменения в понимании роли причинных бактерий и роль приобретенного и врожденного иммунитета, а также понимание регуляции воспаления на молекулярном и клеточном уровнях, привели к новым направлениям в области профилактики и лечения заболевания пародонта.
