Abstract

The author's worldview as a physician is thought of only in the spirit of materialism. The great misfortune and tremendous mistake of earlier generations of physicians was to turn medicine into a part of philosophy and religion. Medicine became a science from the moment it switched to materialism and cut faith and knowledge into two different parts with the edge of a knife. This elegantly and sumptuously (on velvet paper, with rare artistic reproductions) published book reveals for the first time the historical and cultural importance of the doctor from the most ancient times (Assyria, Egypt, India, Judea, China, old America) to the end, the Greek era, which determined the growth, and sometimes the delay, of the cultural development of peoples.
