The journal was founded in 1990.

The journal was created in accordance with the decision of the State Committee for Publishing of the RSFSR dated September 28, 1989 No. 05-1832-1516/83 on the publication of “Bulletin of Mordovian University”. Since 2019, the scientific journal “Bulletin of Mordovian University” has changed its name to “Engineering Technologies and Systems”, since over time there has been a narrowing of the topics of published materials (physics; computer science, computer technology and management; processes and machines of agricultural engineering systems).
