The article analyzes the position of N. F. Fedorov in relation to China, expressed by him in the journalistic articles, letters and philosophical works. The various interpretations of this position by the modern philosophers, literary critics, sinologists are considered. The cultural-historical method is used to solve this problem. The sinological sources used by the philosopher have been clarified. The conclusion about the significance of the political moment and the general historiosophical concept of Fedorov to explain his attitude to China is made.
