Resumo
The given article represents an overview of phonetic works on current changes and tendencies in the system of British English consonants with special reference to the youth speech. The age group under study has a great impact on the pronunciation system in general. The analysis of the findings indicates that the system of consonants is prone to a certain degree of variation especially in the speech of men.
